Roxana Morcosanu began studying the guitar in her hometown of Braila, (Romania) and continued at the Conservatory of Brasov, where she earned her diploma. After winning an Erasmus scholarship, she furthered her studies at the “G. Tartini” in Trieste and subsequently at the “G. Verdi” in Turin, her current residence since 2010, and where she obtained a Master’s Degree with honours.

She perfected her training under the guidance of the masters Massimo Lonardi, Frédéric Zigante, Antonio Rugolo, Lucia Pizzutel, Oscar Ghiglia, Lorenzo Micheli, Matteo Mela and Marco Caiazza, with whom she specialized in solo guitar and chamber music from 2020 to 2022.
She is the winner of numerous first prizes in musical performance competitions in Italy and abroad, including “George Georgescu” of Tulcea (Romania), “Levrone” of Garessio, “Città di Favria”, “M.G. Ansaldi” of Roburent, “Città di Voghera” (Italy) etc. She also participates as a solist and chamber music member in numerous national and international music events and festivals, among which are: Six Ways Guitar Festival, Aurore Musicali, Corde Pizzicate, La Magia del Borgo, Ossola Guitar Festival, Festival di Ispra, Music & Vie and Lyceum Club International ( Switzerland), Lyra Philharmonic Chamber Music Festival (Romania), etc.

In 2014 she founded the Duo BraGal, together with the flautist Madalina Smocov. Having completed their specialization in Chamber Music at the Aosta Conservatory, the duo regularly performs in various Italian and European music festivals, many of which are held in prestigious contexts such as the Senate of the Italian Republic.

Since 2021 she has been a sitting member of the jury of the National Guitar Competition “M.G. Ansaldi” of Mondovì (Italy) as well as holding a role in promotion and public relations for the festival.

In 2023 she made her recording debut with an ambitious project where she recites and plays

simultaneously the lyrics and music of “Platero y Yo”, op.190 by the famous Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, for narrator and guitar. Published by the PVR Label record company, the CD is also available on the main online music platforms (Youtube Music, Apple Music, Spotify etc.)
Her activity as a concert guitarist is paired with that of teaching; as a full position teacher at the Pino Torinese Middle School, as well as collaborating as a teacher/function manager with local organizations such as San Filippo Academy of Piedmontese Liuteria in Turin, the Estemporanea Musical Association - Art, Music, Theater of Turin, and the A più Corde Academy of Sacile.
